Zolpimist Drug Interactions
If you take Zolpimist with protease inhibitors, certain antibiotics, or medications that cause drowsiness, drug interactions could occur. These interactions may affect the level of Zolpimist in your blood or increase your risk of developing side effects, such as extreme drowsiness, memory loss, or confusion. To help limit interactions with Zolpimist, tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are taking.
Zolpimist® (zolpidem oral spray) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Zolpimist include (but are not limited to):
- Alcohol
- Certain antibiotics and antifungal medications, such as:
- Clarithromycin (Biaxin®)
- Fluconazole (Diflucan®)
- Isoniazid
- Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
- Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
- Posaconazole (Noxafil®)
- Rifabutin (Mycobutin®)
- Rifampin (Rifadin®)
- Rifapentine (Priftin®)
- Telithromycin (Ketek®)
- Voriconazole (VFEND®)
- Medications that cause drowsiness, including, but not limited to:
- Antipsychotic medications
- Anxiety medications
- Most antidepressants
- Muscle relaxants
- Narcotic pain relievers
- Other sleep medications
- Some antihistamines
- Protease inhibitors, such as:
- Amprenavir (Agenerase®)
- Atazanavir (Reyataz®)
- Darunavir (Prezista®)
- Fosamprenavir (Lexiva®)
- Indinavir (Crixivan®)
- Nelfinavir (Viracept®)
- Ritonavir (Norvir®)
- Saquinavir (Fortovase®, Invirase®).
