Lunesta Tablets

If you are having problems with insomnia, your healthcare provider may prescribe Lunesta® (eszopiclone). This prescription sleep medication comes in the form of tablets and is typically taken once a day right before bedtime. Lunesta tablets are available in three strengths -- 1 mg, 2 mg, and 3 mg tablets.

Lunesta is part of a class of medications called sedative/hypnotics, which are known more commonly as sleep medicines. Like many other sleep medications, Lunesta is a controlled substance and may be abused.

Even though most people tolerate the tablets well, Lunesta is not suitable for everyone. For example, you may not be able to take Lunesta if you have certain medical conditions, such as liver disease, depression, or any sort of addiction. Before using this sleep medication, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about any other medical conditions you have and any other medications you are taking.
