Lunesta Over the Counter (OTC)
Some people may use Lunesta® (eszopiclone) to help treat insomnia. However, Lunesta is only available with a prescription; there is no over-the-counter (OTC) Lunesta available at this time. Because Lunesta is part of a class of medications called sedative/hypnotics, it is a controlled substance and may be abused.
It is important to have your healthcare provider's approval and supervision when using Lunesta. For instance, Lunesta can cause certain side effects, such as difficulty with coordination, diarrhea, or dizziness. Also, some people may not be able to safely use Lunesta if they have certain medical conditions, such as kidney disease, depression, or any sort of addiction. Lunesta can also negatively interact with several medications.
To help avoid any complications, do not take Lunesta without a prescription or without your healthcare provider's supervision.
