Although most people tolerate Lunesta® (eszopiclone) well, it is not free of dangerous risks. Because this medication is not suitable for everyone, make sure you talk to your healthcare provider about possible dangers that may apply to you.
For instance, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medical conditions you may have and any other medications you are taking (including non-prescription medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements) before starting treatment with the medication.
Some dangers of Lunesta include potential side effects. Common Lunesta side effects include:
- Unpleasant taste
- Infections, such as a urinary tract infection (UTI)
- Dry mouth
Although side effects of Lunesta tend to be minor, there are some serious side effects of the medication that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider right away if you experience problems such as hallucinations, chest pain, or difficulty breathing.
