Intermezzo Medication Information

Intermezzo® (zolpidem sublingual tablet) is a drug used to treat insomnia in adults who wake up in the middle of the night and have problems going back to sleep. It is a type of sedative/hypnotic medicine, and is thought to work by binding to certain receptors in the brain known as benzodiazepine receptors.
 
This sleep medicine comes as a sublingual tablet that is dissolved under the tongue no more than once a night. To help ensure safe treatment with Intermezzo, the medication's safety information should be reviewed before you start using it. Intermezzo may not be suitable for everyone, so let your healthcare provider know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have certain medical conditions (such as depression, sleep apnea, or liver disease), or have any allergies, just to make sure this product is right for you.
